Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled and meticulous On-Call Banquet Captain to oversee our banquet operations during various events, including weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for managing all facets of banquet service, ensuring seamless execution and the highest standards of guest satisfaction. This leadership position demands outstanding communication abilities, a strong passion for event coordination, and the capacity to thrive in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the banquet team during events, ensuring all staff are well-informed and understand their roles.
  • Collaborate with event coordinators, culinary teams, and service personnel to fulfill event requirements according to client expectations.
  • Supervise the setup, execution, and dismantling of events, ensuring compliance with Fort Worden Hospitality's quality standards.
  • Proactively address and resolve any challenges that may arise during events in a professional manner.
  • Ensure that all banquet facilities are maintained, organized, and properly prepared before and after each event.
  • Mentor and train new staff members, offering guidance to enhance their skills and ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Manage inventory for all banquet equipment and supplies effectively.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to guarantee timely meal service and adherence to dietary needs.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing guest inquiries and ensuring a memorable event experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, adapting to operational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a banquet captain or similar leadership role within the hospitality sector.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service protocols and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on training and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive interactions with guests, staff, and management.
  • Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure, with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with food safety and handling regulations is advantageous.
