Radiologic Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
Dartmouth Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality radiologic care to patients, working under the direction of the Associate Director of Radiology and the clinical direction of the Radiologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine radiographic procedures and assist in fluoroscopy.
- Demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, image identification, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures.
- Receive requisition, checking for special instructions from the requesting physician. Ensure appropriate clinical history on requisition.
- Consult with radiologist as necessary.
- Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing self.
- Completely explain examination procedure to the patient, and the patient's family if present.
- Using a standardized form, routinely question patient before contrast injection as to possible contraindications.
- Document all relevant information.
- Question female patients as to pregnancy status and document appropriately.
- May inject contrast media to patients under direction of a Radiologist, providing there has been demonstration of appropriate training and skills to the satisfaction of the department chair.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- One year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registry eligible - obtain within 90 days of hire date, preferred; obtain registration within one year of hire date, required.
- New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License – current New Graduate must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, and obtain licensure within one year of graduation.
- CPR certification must be acquired and maintained within three months of hire date and maintained bi- annually.
Work Schedule:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday. Weekdays 7:30a-8p, weekends 7a-8p. Every other weekend.
