Overview:
This work-study position is dedicated to supporting the operations and activities within a computer laboratory, fostering a conducive learning atmosphere for fellow students. The role operates under general supervision, allowing for some initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure safety protocols are maintained within the computing laboratory.
2. Provide guidance on the use of basic computer laboratory equipment.
3. Address general inquiries related to the computing laboratory.
4. Assist in the proper closure and cleaning of the computing laboratory.
5. Collaborate with faculty overseeing the laboratory as needed.
6. Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively.

Required Qualifications:
- Must meet the educational requirements for student enrollment at Stephen F. Austin State University.
- No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided.
- Must possess a valid "Work-Study Permit" for each semester of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates should have completed computer science courses at SFASU with a grade of A or B.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must be enrolled in at least six semester hours to qualify for employment during the fall or spring semesters.
- For summer employment, students must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or registered for the upcoming fall semester.
- Student assistants cannot hold other positions such as graduate assistantships or temporary employment concurrently.

Compensation:
- Minimum Pay Rate: $8.00/hr
