POSITION SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Assistant position at Ocean State Job Lot ("OSJL" and "Company") is tasked with aiding a Buyer in daily administrative operations to fulfill all business requirements. This role involves data entry, report generation, and product research. The Purchasing Assistant is dedicated to completing tasks efficiently and is open to exploring new methods as necessary, including but not limited to generating purchase orders and overseeing their progress until completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and track purchase orders. Develop and maintain various reports, such as purchase order assessments, sales figures, and Paragon reports. Communicate with OSJL stores and all current and prospective vendors. Arrange meetings with vendors. Handle phone inquiries, respond to questions, and relay important information to the buyers. Conduct product research as required. Execute related administrative tasks to support the Buying Department. Perform the aforementioned duties with minimal oversight.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
0-2 years of relevant experience in imports, purchasing, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in office or administrative roles is essential. Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS and Google platform applications (e.g., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).ATTRIBUTES:
