  • This position is vital for upholding our laboratory's exceptional standards and fostering excellence in both histology and data management.

Primary Duties:

  • Supervise tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and high-resolution imaging, ensuring superior specimen preparation and precise digital documentation.
  • Handle histology requests from initiation to completion, ensuring prompt communication and insightful feedback.
  • Oversee sample management logistics for both clinical and non-clinical specimens, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
  • Implement quality control measures for histological integrity, encompassing equipment maintenance, standard operating procedures, accurate sample handling, issue resolution, and data verification.
  • Offer guidance and support to R&D scientists on histology methodologies while maintaining laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Pathology, or a related discipline (considering education versus experience).
  • Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a histology laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional record-keeping skills.
  • Adaptable and proficient in acquiring new processes and technologies.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with brightfield and fluorescence imaging, as well as digital pathology systems.
  • Expertise in specific histological techniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
  • Good visual acuity and the capability to lift up to 40 pounds.
