We have a strong track record of top-decile returns, with over $140M in Net Asset Value (NAV) across two funds. Our team comprises entrepreneurs, operators, and scientists who deeply understand the founder's journey. We are usually the first check in, supporting companies from their earliest stages.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Associate, you'll be a core part of our investment team and involved in every stage of the venture process. Your responsibilities will include:

New Investments
  • Source and evaluate innovative investment opportunities, conducting thorough market and industry research to shape investment theses.
  • Create compelling and insightful investment snapshots, memos, and models, leading and supporting the execution of investment deals, working closely with our partners.
Portfolio Management
  • Play a key role in monitoring and supporting portfolio companies, helping enhance our portfolio reporting processes and providing strategic input for portfolio companies.
  • Work directly with founders and leadership teams on key initiatives, attending board meetings and supporting their growth.
Firm Operations
  • Contribute to the development of Starlight's investor relations and reporting processes, playing an active role in enhancing internal operations and firm-building activities.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for candidates who are passionate about scientific and deep-tech startups and who thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline, with a proven track record of academic excellence.
  • MBA is a plus but not required.
  • A genuine interest in science and a strong desire to work in venture capital, with a focus on deep-tech innovations.
  • Prior experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with significant experience using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a passion for working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
