About the Role

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the successful nightly maintenance of the oil refining and packaging facility. This position plays a crucial role in preserving assets, ensuring they can safely and economically continue to provide benefit to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Environmental Performance:
    • Lead the safety effort by personal example.
    • Support full plant-wide compliance with safety rules to further the goal of 0 accidents and encourage reporting and correcting near misses.
    • Support 0 contractor accidents during major construction or anytime maintenance contractors are on site.
    • Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help remedy them.
  • Work Requirements:
    • Work the hours of 11pm - 7am.
    • Participate in project development and project meetings.
    • Substitute for the Maintenance Manager in their absence at meetings regarding processing and control issues.
    • Specify new technologies and run trials to prove effectiveness.
    • Assist in the planning and direction of strategic improvements to keep plant process controls up to date using current best practice and latest technologies.
    • Work closely with vendors to specify, select, and supervise inventory levels and organization.
    • Responsible for the scheduling of maintenance personnel.
    • Responsible for the assigning of maintenance work.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, wiring, and field devices.
    • Program PLC logic for process changes and improvements.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot single and three-phase industrial motors, VFDs, electrical distribution, and protection circuits up to 480VAC.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot conveyor systems.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot steam and condensate systems.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot pumps and piping systems.
    • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, ladder logic, and electrical schematics.
    • Maintain facilities; lighting, windows, doors, roofs, etc.
  • Cost Control:
    • Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing downtime, scrap, poor quality, accidents, utility usage, and reduced productivity in pursuit of daily work.
    • Use predictive maintenance techniques to plan and budget major repairs.
    • Minimize carrying costs by analyzing both the need for and quantity of spare parts prior to purchase.
    • Work with purchasing to find the lowest cost on comparable equipment and supplies.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience and possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in welding (preferred).
  • Certification in electrical with an emphasis on industrial (preferred).
  • General knowledge of automation, PLCs, ladder logic, etc. (preferred).
  • General knowledge of packaging equipment (preferred).
  • General knowledge of conveyor systems (preferred).
  • General knowledge of heating and air-conditioning.
  • Certification in refrigeration, both freon and ammonia (preferred).
  • General knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting (preferred).
