As an Electrician Journeyman at Amtrak, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and HVAC systems. Your expertise will be utilized to work on electrical systems and components with AC and DC voltage, diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot, and qualify components and circuits. You will also perform approved electrical modifications to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test electrical, electronic, and HVAC systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in electrical systems and components, and qualify components and circuits to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform approved electrical modifications to upgrade or repair systems, and ensure that all work is done in accordance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to ensure seamless operation of our systems and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including AC and DC voltage, and experience with troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
