Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at A Special Touch In-Home Care. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients by providing personalized care and support in the comfort of their own homes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Personal Care and Hygiene Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Remind Clients to Take Medication: Ensure clients take their prescribed medication as directed by their healthcare provider.
  • Assist with Mobility and Transportation: Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and other activities as needed.
  • Plan and Prepare Meals: Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for clients, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Complete Household Chores: Assist clients with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
  • Report Incidents and Provide Emergency Care: Respond promptly and responsibly in cases of emergency, and report any unusual incidents to management.
  • Provide Companionship and Emotional Support: Engage in activities with clients that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate and Empathetic Nature: Possess a strong ability to understand and respond to the needs of clients with empathy and compassion.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
  • Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation: Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to transport clients to appointments and activities.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being part of a team.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Understand and adhere to health and safety standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients.
