Leadership and Supervision

As a seasoned RN Manager of Labor and Delivery, you will oversee and manage a team of nursing staff in the Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring that all patient care is provided in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards. You will foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and patient-centered care.

You will provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to nursing staff and conduct performance evaluations. Your leadership skills will be essential in promoting a culture of excellence and accountability within the team.

Patient Care Management

You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to all patients in the Labor & Delivery unit. This includes monitoring patient care to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.

You will address patient care issues and concerns promptly, providing resolutions that prioritize patient safety and satisfaction. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be crucial in this role.

Operational Management

You will oversee the daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation. You will manage departmental budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

You will collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize resource utilization. Your organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks will be essential in this role.

Quality Improvement and Compliance

You will implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.

You will participate in risk management activities and develop strategies to minimize risks to patients and staff. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be crucial in this role.

Education and Staff Development

You will identify educational needs of staff and coordinate ongoing training and development programs. You will promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities for the nursing team.

You will keep current with developments in nursing and obstetric care, integrating evidence-based practices into the unit. Your passion for education and staff development will be essential in this role.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 35 years of clinical nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Current RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
