Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Communication Disorders Specialist to join our team at Soliant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication disorders.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students' communication needs and help them succeed in their educational environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify communication disorders in students, including speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Therapy Services: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans tailored to each student's needs, providing direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom and home activities, monitoring and documenting students' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Education and Training: Educate and train school staff and parents on strategies to support students' communication skills, maintaining accurate records and complying with federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Oregon Teaching License: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a license with a Communication Disorders endorsement from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC).
  • Clearances: Must pass a criminal background check and provide a current tuberculosis (TB) test clearance as required by Oregon schools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
