About the Job
Join the US Army Child and Youth Services team as a Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant We're seeking an experienced professional to supervise children and youth in a dynamic and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and conducting activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth, instructing team members in specific tasks and job techniques, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and local installation standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth
• Instruct team members in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies
• Explain program guidance, procedures, policies, and directives to team members
• Use designated evaluation materials to ensure assigned area is in compliance with DoD and local installation standards

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent communication skills required
• Ability to work effectively with children and youth required
• Must meet one of the following qualifications:
 * Hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential;
 * Have two years of specialized experience working in a group program with children or youth plus an associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours with a major course of study directly related to the age group to which assigned;
 * Have a bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours with a major course of study directly related to the age group to which assigned;
• Experience leading or mentoring lower-level childcare/youth program staff highly preferred
