About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior/Staff Firmware Engineer to join our team. This is a critical position that requires expertise in real-time embedded software development, firmware testing, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying firmware for our electric drivetrain systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality real-time embedded software for control and safety management of the Drive Inverter;
- Create automated tests to ensure software releases meet quality and functionality standards;
- Participate in the full lifecycle of firmware development, from concept to integration, testing, and release;
- Collaborate with hardware and control teams to specify hardware requirements;
- Optimize firmware for motor controls and power electronics.
Requirements and Qualifications
- M.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field;
- 5+ years of experience in firmware development, preferably in vertically integrated automotive system-level products;
- Expertise in C programming, familiarity with C++, Python, and bash scripting;
- Proficiency with real-time operating systems and safety-critical applications;
- Experience with embedded microprocessor tools, hardware peripherals, and common buses CAN interface and driver code generation;
- Hands-on experience debugging in real-world environments with embedded diagnostics tooling;
- Experience with MCU development, UDS, OTA, AUTOSAR, ASPICE, and ISO 21434 & ISO 26262 preferred;
- Knowledge of version control and continuous integration preferred;
- Previous work in startup or high-growth tech settings a plus;
- Highly collaborative mindset, good communication skills, proactive, self-directed, and able to estimate project scope and timelines.
Estimated Salary Range:$120,000 - $180,000 per year.
