Currently, Optima is in search of a Phlebotomist to undertake various responsibilities to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist:

  • Monitoring and managing blood samples and ensuring timely results are returned after testing.
  • Updating and maintaining patient records accurately.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety standards and institutional guidelines.
  • Addressing patient inquiries related to collection techniques and providing additional resources upon request.
  • Recording essential patient information, including vital signs, weight, and any changes in medical history.
  • Preparing and sanitizing examination rooms before and after patient visits.
  • Performing various medical procedures such as EKGs, pulmonary function tests, and ear lavages.
  • Administering injections and conducting blood draws.
  • Assisting with patient scheduling, follow-ups, and provider documentation as required.

Qualifications for the Phlebotomist:

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in phlebotomy.
  • At least 1 year of experience with electronic medical records; familiarity with eClinicalWorks is preferred.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
