Position Title: Simulation Foundry Engineer
Location: Montrose, MN
Travel Requirement: 10%
Role Summary:
The Simulation Foundry Engineer is responsible for overseeing mold flow and solidification evaluations, 3D CAD modeling, and CAE analysis, while playing a vital role in improving simulation results and performance during product launch activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of optimized gating systems for various casting applications.
- Utilize advanced CAD software such as Creo and SolidWorks for mold design development.
- Implement state-of-the-art simulation software (Magmasoft, ProCast, EKK) for foundry process analysis.
- Provide technical insights for new product introductions and collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Serve as a liaison to address analysis inquiries between clients and manufacturing units.
- Conduct research and development to ensure timely and accurate analysis results.
- Validate designs against casting results to enhance processes.
- Design tools for diverse casting methods and modify CAD files for molding purposes.
- Adhere to established protocols to ensure efficient job completion.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and address operational issues.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment while providing engineering support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five years of analytical experience with mold flow and solidification software.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of foundry processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in advanced CAD, MS Office, and presentation software.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
