Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to implement treatment plans, provide patient education, and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment plans as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the supervising therapist's established plan of care.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the interventions and education provided, interdisciplinary communication, and plan of care.
  • Interact and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals.
  • Provide patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved PTA program).
  • Current and valid NYS Physical Therapy Assistant license and registration or limited permit.
  • Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association - Inpatient facility only.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
