This role involves providing expert technical support and direction for various phases of building and infrastructure projects across both public and private sectors. Responsibilities encompass the research, design, conceptualization, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural components. The position demands a commitment to delivering high-quality work that meets or surpasses industry standards for design, safety, and structural integrity.

Your Contributions
  • Utilize advanced structural engineering methodologies to enhance various stages of building projects, including conceptualization, preliminary and final design, procurement, construction, and operational phases.
  • Conduct professional structural engineering assessments and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Create detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates while coordinating with clients, other disciplines, and sub-consultants.
  • Engage in all project phases from inception to completion, managing design, construction, rehabilitation, and remediation efforts to ensure material durability and structural integrity.
  • Integrate cutting-edge technologies and materials into structural design, ensuring safety and functionality for end-users and transportation systems.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and planners to execute project tasks efficiently, managing budgets, timelines, and compliance documentation.
  • Review and approve design plans for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Generate data visualizations and technical reports to present complex findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Analyze site investigation data to inform risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and enforce site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate proactively with engineering professionals and authorities on improvement and development projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and practices in structural engineering.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
Qualifications

Essential
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, with a focus on structural or civil design.
  • Professional Engineer license is mandatory.
  • Proficient in structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in building structural planning, design, and construction management.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of structural and civil construction laws and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and investigations in accordance with regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated self-leadership and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in technical writing and structural software applications.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and direct subcontractors effectively.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health policies.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as project needs dictate.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project demands.
Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Structural Engineering (SE) license.
