Summit Medical Consultants is a rapidly growing physician-founded medical group, established in 2015. With a team of approximately 100 employees, we continue to expand our services. If we were a hospital in Colorado, we would rank 9th by number of admissions per year.

Our mission is to provide patients and their families with robust clinical services throughout their Acute Inpatient Rehab, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, and Assisted and Independent Living stays.

We coordinate with Hospitalists and Specialist physicians and surgeons, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies, Case Management, and Psychiatry at the facility level to provide compassionate and coordinated care.

Job Description

As a Physician, you will provide medical oversight and care to assigned patient populations, maintaining timely and appropriate documentation of such care. You will actively participate in medical staff duties, quality assurance, utilization management, and peer review programs to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services.

You will support practice budgetary targets, partner with administration and staff to support strategic and operational plans, and work collaboratively toward needed improvements.

Work is done in subacute, long-term care, assisted living, and independent living settings, depending on specialty and assigned patient population. Reliable transportation is required, and you may be required to visit more than one facility in a day.

Essential Functions
  • Meet quality measures in provision of medical care.
  • Perform related administrative functions in the clinical setting.
  • Meet professional standards governing such services in the appropriate medical specialty.
  • Perform in accordance with the medical staff bylaws, the rules and regulations of the Board of Medical Examiners, and the policies and procedures of practice.
  • Create and maintain timely, appropriate, and confidential documentation and coding of patient care to ensure compliance with medical reporting standards and billing practices.
  • Participate in medical staff duties, attend medical staff meetings, participate in peer reviews and evaluations, and support and ensure compliance with federal and state rules, regulations, and accrediting body requirements.
  • Meet Continuing Medical Education requirements for state licensure and liability insurance.
  • Support practice budgetary targets while maintaining standards of care.
  • Participate in utilization and care management processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective health care.
  • Participate in the identification, collection, and analysis of clinical, operational, and financial indicators to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Promote patient safety in all functions.
  • Serve as a committed partner to the Practice's administration and staff to support strategic and operational plans.
  • Establish positive relationships with other physicians, administration, staff, and the community.
  • Foster collaborative efforts toward improvement.
  • Serve on relevant health plan and medical staff committees to optimize relationships with the medical staff members, payors, and peers.
  • Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, report/removes unsafe equipment, and attend safety education sessions.
  • Strive to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Practice.
  • Serve as a role model for staff and act in a people-centered, service excellence-focused, and results-oriented manner.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience, preferably in the Skilled Nursing/Post-Acute care and/or Hospitalist setting.
  • Graduate of an approved school of medicine with licensure in the state where he/she practices.
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified by the appropriate certifying board.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Ring Central, Point Click Care, and Google Docs/Sheets, Gmail, WhatsApp experience is preferred.
Job Schedule

Full-time, Exempt, Days and rotating On-call, M-F.

$250,000k- $300,000k Per Year.
