Job Summary:

The Department of the Air Force is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist with Security Clearance. This position requires expertise in maintaining and repairing aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories.

About the Job:

This role is located within an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Propulsion Element. The primary purpose of this position is to certify acceptable performance, test, repair, troubleshoot, operationally check, and modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units, as well as associated propulsion system components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Certify acceptable performance of aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories
  • Test, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft propulsion systems
  • Modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units
  • Determine maintenance needs from work orders, inspection reports, historical records, and diagnosis

Requirements:

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret), the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment

Qualifications:

  • Military Grades: ENLISTED
  • General Experience: Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories
  • Specialized Experience: Must have 18 months experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories
