Position Classification: Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of journal entries.
  2. Support the accounting needs related to transaction processing and assist in maintaining internal controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.
  3. Play a vital role in the monthly financial close process, which includes:
  • Conducting reconciliations, particularly for bank accounts, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
  • Preparing month-end journal entries.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements.
  1. Assist in the preparation of corporate filings, including sales tax returns and property tax submissions.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices and regulations for both financial reporting and tax compliance.
  3. Contribute to team objectives by completing related projects as necessary.
  4. Adhere to all reasonable requests from management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  2. A minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience.
  3. Preference for candidates pursuing an MBA or MPACC, or those intending to obtain a CPA license.
  4. Demonstrated ability to produce accurate and insightful analyses and reports.
  5. Commitment to ongoing professional development through workshops and networking.
  6. Dedication to providing exceptional service consistently.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting, with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement after an initial period. The role involves regular use of standard office equipment, including computers and software applications.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, use hands for tasks, and occasionally lift objects up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see both close and far distances, as well as color and peripheral vision.
