Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to provide exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable experience at Georgia Blue. As a bartender, you will be the face of our establishment, and your friendly demeanor, outgoing personality, and excellent communication skills will be essential in building strong relationships with our patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Verify the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, using clear and enthusiastic words, tones, and body language to make them feel appreciated.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a seamless service and ensure that all areas are cleaned and stocked to our high standards.
  • Mix, garnish, and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, adhering to our standard drink recipes.
  • Ring drink orders into the computer, collect payment, and make change, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, being attentive and proactive in providing exceptional service.
  • Learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks, making Georgia Blue a special place for them to return.
  • Exercise responsible service of alcohol, recognizing when a guest has become intoxicated and knowing how to handle the situation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Previous bartending experience is required, unless we promote a server from within.
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude, and strong oral communication skills.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and sound judgment are essential.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures, and functions.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
  • Fluent English language skills and basic writing abilities.
Working Conditions
  • May be an indoor or outdoor setting, depending on the outlet.
  • Varied weather conditions are expected.
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts.
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
Appearance/Uniform Standard
  • Grey long sleeve button-down shirt with a black vest, tucked in with a black belt, black non-denim pants/slacks, server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings.
  • Men must keep facial hair well groomed.
  • All hair long enough to touch the shoulder must be pulled back and restrained.
