We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Heart and Vascular intensive care unit (HVICU) at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. As a valued member of our healthcare delivery team, you will provide care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacement, and complex aortic procedures.

About the Role:

The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague will be responsible for providing patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepting accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Providing direct patient care and collaborating with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum.
  • Evaluating and implementing evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to identify and address potential problems and opportunities for care improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
  • Seeking feedback and providing guidance to colleagues to enhance clinical practice.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • At least 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience.
  • Current RN licensure in Pennsylvania and active participation in continuing education programs.
  • Completion of the Nurse Residency Program, if applicable.
  • ACLS/CPR certification as a healthcare provider, as per the American Heart Association.
