Job Description

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Home Health Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

We are committed to providing patients with the highest-quality care, enabling them to live at home with comfort, independence, and dignity. As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, you will use your clinical skills to treat patients where they want to be the most – in the comfort of their own home.

About the Role:
  • You will see clients through their care needs – from hospital discharge to living a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.
  • Perform thorough evaluations to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for clients who are experiencing speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
  • Develop a treatment plan based on the evaluation, physician's orders, and recommended goals.
  • Continually assess and revise the speech therapy care plan and participate with BAYADA clinicians in the multidisciplinary care plan, as appropriate.
  • Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety, and independent living.
  • Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
Requirements:
  • A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • A minimum of one year of recent work experience as a Speech Therapist.
  • Possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or have the equivalent educational requirements and work experience necessary for such a certificate.
  • Previous home healthcare experience welcomed, but not required.
  • The ability to travel to cases as assigned.
  • A calm and reassuring presence, active listening skills, excellent assessment skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
