Job Description: Bar Back/Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Bar Back/Assistant to join our team at Nucky's Speakeasy. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations behind the bar and delivering top-notch service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wash and sanitize equipment: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by washing and sanitizing bar dishes, utensils, and glassware promptly and efficiently.
  • Store cleaned items: Properly store cleaned items in designated areas to ensure optimal storage and minimize waste.
  • Polish glassware: Polish glasses to sparkling cleanliness for use by bartenders.
  • Assist bartenders: Assist bartenders in pouring and preparing drinks as needed to meet high demand.
  • Greet customers: Greet customers warmly and hand out menus upon their arrival to provide an exceptional first impression.
  • Maintain cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar area, including light cleaning tasks to ensure a tidy environment.
  • Bus tables: Bus tables and clear empty glasses and bottles to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Stock supplies: Stock the bar with necessary supplies, including beverages, garnishes, and napkins to meet customer demands.
  • Clean and organize: Clean and organize bottles and other bar equipment to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Prior experience in a barback or similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Multitasking: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively to meet demanding situations.
  • Learning ability: Willingness to learn and take direction from bartenders and other staff members.
  • Availability: Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical demands: Ability to stand and bend for up to 8 hours.
