Position Overview

The Physical Therapist is tasked with assessing, formulating treatment strategies, and providing care to patients referred to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit expertise in assessment and therapeutic techniques suitable for patient care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and billing processes for Physical Therapy services.
  • Support the training of new personnel and interns.
  • Engage in clinical education for Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist Assistant students.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of skilled professionals.
  • Innovate and implement new operational processes.
  • Guide and mentor clinical team members.
  • Maintain competency in all designated areas within the department.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree from a recognized physical therapy program.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical practice experience.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
  • Possession of or eligibility for a Texas State physical therapy license is required.
Skills and Competencies
  • Utilize Physical Therapy principles in accordance with the Texas State Practice Act and the APTA Code of Ethics.
  • Execute technical procedures while instilling confidence in patients and colleagues.
Collaboration and Interdepartmental Relationships

Frequent collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Ability to adapt schedules and assist colleagues in the event of conflicts or cancellations.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates walking and standing, lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds, and clear verbal communication.

Good hearing and visual acuity are essential.

Work Environment

Primarily indoor settings with fluctuating temperatures.

Potential exposure to various diseases and chemicals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.
