Overview

The American Heart Association is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to join our team in Vermont, Northern New England. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for generating revenue through our Go Red for Women campaign, including the signature Go Red for Women Luncheon event.

This is a home-office based position with local travel, requiring access to reliable transportation. You will work closely with our volunteer leadership, corporate partners, and donors to achieve revenue goals and advance our mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

Responsibilities

The Development Manager will be responsible for:

  • Generating revenue through prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors
  • Developing and presenting proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement
  • Recruiting and managing executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers
  • Coordinating the event auction, including soliciting auction items and preparing packages to raise funds
  • Leading and engaging new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other fundraising staff
  • Planning and implementing events in collaboration with internal and external partners
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
  • Ability to do daily local travel up to 75% and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects, with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
  • Basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office
