About the Role

PureCycle Technologies Inc. is a leading company in the field of plastic recycling, committed to making a positive impact on the environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for plastic waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and engineering expertise to resolve operational problems and improve process capabilities.
  • Develop scopes for improvement projects for engineering project teams, focusing on safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the design, procurement, and installation of new equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review data packages and drawings from vendors for errors and improvements, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Provide technical support for maintaining and advancing Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Participate in Management of Change (MOC) process to control and manage proposed process modifications, minimizing disruptions.
  • Help to develop site operating procedures and participate in Operator training for projects and improvements, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  • Use statistical techniques to evaluate and improve process capabilities, driving continuous improvement.
  • Investigate innovative technologies and equipment modifications to improve safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency, staying up-to-date with industry advancements.
Requirements
  • Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of work experience in the chemical manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of process engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, process troubleshooting, and complex problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Effective writing, listening, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with leadership, employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to lead and contribute as part of cross-functional teams, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Desire to learn, accept new challenges, and willingness to grow and advance within the company, with a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work independently or cooperatively to deliver required results, with a strong work ethic.
  • Awareness of Federal and State EPA, OSHA, PSM, EHS, and DOT regulations, with a focus on compliance.
  • Knowledge of standard chemical industry standards such as API, ASME, RAGAGEP, etc., and permitting processes, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office product suite, with a focus on productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to work non-routine hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond to emergency callouts, with a flexible mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience, with a strong track record of success in process engineering.
  • Engineering design experience is a plus, but not required, with a focus on innovation and creativity.
  • Industry experience and familiarity in the handling of flammable materials, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as Aspen Engineering, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and similar, with a focus on productivity and efficiency.
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV process control platform and configuration or similar DCS, with a focus on process control and optimization.
  • Experience with corporate and plant level project management, project management certification a plus, with a focus on project delivery and success.
