Job Summary:

We are seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric medicine and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing the healthcare needs of neonates, infants, and children. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include attending deliveries, resuscitating newborns, caring for healthy newborns, and managing babies in the Level II Nursery. You will also perform procedures such as circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, and intubations.

Services Provided:

Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato has the largest number of deliveries in the Mayo Clinic Health System. Our Level II Nursery provides care to premature babies and other newborns requiring special care due to low birth weight, respiratory distress, or various other disorders. Babies requiring care in a NICU are transferred to Rochester or Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Practice Dynamics:

This position is solely inpatient, with hospitalists staying in-house. Shifts are 24 hours in length. You will work collaboratively with pediatric hospitalists and advanced practice providers to provide high-quality patient care. You will also have access to Mayo Clinic pediatric subspecialists in Rochester for consultation and support.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota, DEA license, board certification in Pediatrics, and Basic Life Support certification. Need Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification upon hire, and Neonatal Resuscitation Plan certification. You will possess excellent communication skills, patient assessment skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
