We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our team at Tysons Corner Children's Center. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years in a childcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily activities that cater to the developmental needs of the children.
- Assist in creating a warm and accepting classroom atmosphere that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Ensure the physical space is safe and conducive to children's movement and exploration.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment that provides choices, routines, and predictability.
- Assist with feeding, toileting, and personal care as needed.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and security of all children at all times.
- Be responsive to the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of children and create a nurturing environment.
- Maintain sight and sound supervision of children at all times.
- Ability to provide developmentally appropriate activities that foster children's growth and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas orally and in writing in English.
- Willingness to continue training in Early Childhood Education (ECE) related topics.
- Ability to be an appropriate role model for children and staff.
- Lift children weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Make eye contact with children at their level and bend and move appropriately to interact with children.
- A four-year degree in ECE or a related field.
- An Associate's degree and/or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Eligibility to participate in the 401(k) plan after meeting the minimum hour requirement.
