Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutrition Educator to join our team at the University of Idaho. The successful candidate will provide education and support for the Eat Smart Idaho Program in the areas of nutrition, food safety, food resource management, and physical activity to eligible, limited-resource participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs and materials for SNAP-eligible audiences
  • Provide one-on-one and group education on nutrition, food safety, and physical activity
  • Collaborate with community partners to promote the Eat Smart Idaho Program
  • Conduct outreach and education to limited-resource audiences
  • Assist with program evaluation and data collection
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. nutrition, public health, education)
  • Experience working with limited-resource audiences and community-based programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience developing and implementing educational programs
  • Knowledge of nutrition and food safety principles
  • Ability to speak Spanish
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to travel to various locations throughout the state. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
