At Ambercare, we are committed to supporting the well-being of children and families in crisis. As a Family Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping families achieve safety, permanency, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support families in crisis through DCFS programs, including Family Habilitation Services, Visitation, and Housing.
- Provide transportation for parents and children to and from locations for supervised visits.
- Teach and demonstrate homemaking skills, parenting skills, and utilize effective resources directly with families in the home.
- Observe all interaction between parents and children during visits and redirect if needed.
- Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience in social work, child care, or working with families preferred.
- Must have a dependable automobile, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
