Job Summary

As a Patient Care Technician at Virtua, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or LPN. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will also communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families to provide seamless care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and mobility assistance.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by RN/LPN, such as vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and foley catheter care.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond accordingly.
  • Reinforce patient and family education on individual care needs and safety issues.
  • Participate in Virtua's patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a PCT course, fundamentals nursing course, or equivalent experience.
  • BLS certification.
