Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your clinical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, from infancy to the elderly, in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient units.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum.
  • Participate in process improvement activities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.
  • Complete mandatory education and training, including review of age-specific needs, caring behaviors, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher level nursing degree.
  • New hires who start their employment with a temporary practice permit must sit for their NCLEX within 60 days of starting in their RN role.
  • A graduate registered nurse may only practice professional nursing under supervision and if the graduate registered nurse holds a current temporary practice permit.
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • As outlined in unit-based Plan for Provision of Care.
