About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Eastern Washington University. As a key member of our Dining Services team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and service of food in our campus restaurants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and participate in food service preparation and service, dish washing, sanitation, and other cleaning functions.
  • Lead student employees and other food service workers in the day-to-day operation of the food service location and, as needed, in other dining locations.
  • Direct and participate in the cleaning and maintenance of food service equipment and work areas; maintain compliance with all sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper record keeping including work schedules, orders, requisitions, recipes, and production sheets.
  • Receive cash payments and charge slips from customers. Account for receipts through POS systems and credit card machines, and make deposits at the beginning and end of the work shift.
Requirements
  • Valid Washington Driver's license
  • Valid Washington Food Handlers Permit
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in restaurant food service work, including one year of lead experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability, and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary Arts degree or related degree in the food service field
  • 2 years of college or university high volume food service experience.
  • 1 year of kitchen supervisory experience.
