Job Summary
Vidant Health is seeking a skilled Referral Coordinator to join our team. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a critical role in coordinating operations of the referral process, including pre-certifications and scheduling appointments. You will be responsible for coordinating operations and processes of the Centralized Referral Office, as well as operating office equipment and performing additional duties as required by the practice manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate operations of the referral process, including pre-certifications and scheduling appointments.
- Operate office equipment and perform additional duties as required by the practice manager.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless referral processes.
- Monitor and analyze referral data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the practice manager to develop and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of formal training or education preferred.
- Must possess CPT and ICD-9/10 coding knowledge and medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology skills.
- 1-3 years of related work experience required.
- Must possess computer skills, including Excel and Word knowledge/experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Medical office experience preferred.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position, working 8am-5pm. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
