Job Title: Interventional Radiology Nurse

Capital Health is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our team. As an Interventional Radiology Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing diagnostic or interventional radiologic procedures.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing unique and individualized comfort measures to patients, utilizing intuitive and innovative approaches that are scientifically based. You will foster an environment that promotes the core mission of Capital Health and assist patients and families in understanding alternatives to care. Additionally, you will facilitate communication among healthcare team members and provide information and interpretation of patient conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality nursing care to meet the health, physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients undergoing diagnostic or interventional radiologic procedures.
  • Plan and provide unique and individualized comfort measures utilizing intuitive and innovative approaches that are scientifically based.
  • Assess patient condition and status by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and continuously monitoring.
  • Discuss any problems with the physician before, during, and after the procedure.
  • Perform all functions of the procedure competently and assist the physician during all aspects of the procedure.
  • Assist patients and families in understanding alternatives to care and facilitate communication among healthcare team members.
  • Provide information and interpretation of patient conditions and offer coping mechanisms.
  • Assess how much information a patient wants and needs using a vocabulary and approach that enables the patient to comprehend given information.
  • Formulate and document a discharge plan that maximizes the patient's ability to continue with meaningful life activities.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of critical care experience or training.
  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ.
  • ACLS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to Critical Care/Intermediate/Telemetry, Emergency Rooms, Pediatrics/Pediatrics Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Services (not to include Perioperative), Interventional Procedures, Observation.
  • NRP (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to Maternity Services, Emergency Room RMC/Deborah.
  • PALS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to Emergency Rooms, Infant Follow-Up, Surgical Services (only PACU & Same Day Surgery), Pediatrics/Pediatric ED.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory, accrediting, and compliance requirements.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent physical demands include: Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion.

Occasional physical demands include: Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Taste or Smell.

Continuous physical demands include: Standing, Walking, Talk or Hear.

Lifting Floor to Waist 40 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 40 lbs.

Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing.

Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical, Airborne Communicable Disease, Radiation, Dust/Particulate Matter.
