Job Summary

WBK Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to join our Site Development Practice group as a Senior Civil Engineer. This role requires a qualified licensed Civil Engineer with background in site development projects and project management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on site development projects, often for underserved communities, on federal or Native American lands throughout the United States.
  • May serve as a supervisor, project manager, or as a designated client contact for Site Development projects.
  • Perform and/or supervise design work that involves access & transportation, utilities (sewer and water supply), drainage and stormwater management, permitting, asset management and code / ordinance review and development.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, staff, peers, and the public.
  • Assist in producing pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  • Ability to be flexible to accommodate occasionally aggressive project deadlines.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Perform or oversee junior staff to perform occasional site visits during construction for verification of construction progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program.
  • Six to ten years of applicable civil engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, and Teams.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for full plan set production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Past experience with leading engineering projects in a consultant environment.
  • Past experience with site development projects.
Working Environment

This role is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. On occasion, there may be exposure to loud office or technical machinery during its' operation. Additionally, this role may be required to attend site visits, which may involve exposure to various environmental conditions.

Physical Demands
  • Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment.
  • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role.
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper.
  • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment.
  • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization.
  • Seeing: This role requires the ability to view existing project sites and examine information.
  • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 20lbs to transport technological office equipment.
