Position Overview

The Housekeeping Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the efficient functioning of the Housekeeping Division within MCR Hotels. This role involves managing all aspects of the Housekeeping Department, including guest accommodations, public areas, and laundry services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms and public spaces to ensure adherence to cleanliness and quality standards.
2. Supervise daily operations, including the opening and closing of the department, assigning tasks to staff, and inspecting completed work.
3. Maintain the hotel’s brand standards for cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
4. Foster a welcoming and service-oriented environment for both guests and team members.
5. Oversee and guide housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
6. Hold regular departmental meetings to discuss objectives and address any concerns.
7. Manage inventory levels of housekeeping supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
8. Monitor maintenance requests and coordinate with the Engineering Department to ensure timely resolution.
9. Ensure accurate reporting of room status and discrepancies through nightly audits.
10. Implement and uphold policies regarding lost and found items.
11. Review guest requests to ensure all needs are met proactively.
12. Ensure compliance with safety standards, particularly regarding the use of cleaning chemicals.
13. Maintain a secure key control system for the department.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or a related field is required.
- Supervisory experience is necessary.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and effectively resolve workplace challenges.
- Strong listening and communication skills to address concerns from guests and staff.
- Basic arithmetic skills are required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with hotel brands is advantageous.
