Role Summary:
The Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist is responsible for conducting echocardiograms in accordance with established departmental protocols to capture high-quality images. This role also includes assisting with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) and stress tests, ensuring that the images produced aid physicians in making accurate diagnoses. The specialist will identify any issues and take appropriate actions, including reporting critical findings. Prioritization of study completion will be based on patient acuity, preferences, and coordination with nursing and other support services. Additionally, the specialist may provide EKG and Holter monitoring services as workload permits, ensuring accurate lead placement and minimal interference in EKGs, as well as setting up Holter monitors for effective patient evaluation.

Qualifications:
Education: Required: Graduate from an accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography program, or a minimum of 6 months of clinical experience.
Experience: Required: 6 months in a clinical setting; Preferred: 2 years.
Certification: Required: Registry eligible and BLS; Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
