The Hillsboro Club, a prestigious private residence club in South Florida, is seeking an experienced Painter / Preventive Maintenance Engineer to support the Engineering Department at our luxurious property. This position will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance and functionality of all buildings, equipment, and facilities of our upscale property.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems, and building structures of the club.
- Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers, and pool pumps.
- Paints all interior and exterior surfaces of the club's buildings and facilities.
- Repairs and maintains drywall, plaster, and wood surfaces as needed.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, filling holes, and sanding.
- Responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Supervises the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool, tests swimming pool water, and maintains daily log of water test results for local health department inspections.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by club's PM procedures.
- Installs tile, drywall, makes grouting repairs, patches walls, and paves brick.
- Repairs small motors.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Repair and Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as a painter and general maintenance tasks in a hospitality/restaurant setting.
- Excellent painting and drywall repair skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, power tools, minor repairs on outlets, lamps, and plumbing fixtures.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks that require bending and reaching.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
