Pool Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Pool Attendant to join our team at the YMCA and Women's Center of Rome. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about ensuring the well-being and safety of others.

• Active surveillance of the pool area, promptly responding to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code.
• Performing equipment checks and ensuring appropriate equipment is available as needed.
• Inspecting the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.

• Minimum age of 15 with a support lifeguard
• Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent
• Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness

This position requires standing for extended periods, swimming, and frequent movements around the pool area. The candidate must be able to hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, remain alert, and see all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
