Maintenance Technician Job Description

Schunk Xycarb Technology, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Georgetown, Texas. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial production machinery, including CNC mills and lathes, heat treat ovens, grinding machines, centrifuges, and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs, as well as troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret equipment diagrams, schematics, and operation manuals to ensure accurate maintenance and repair.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety regulations and policies, including OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Set up and install production machines and plant facility equipment, and test them for final acceptance.
  • Assist in training and instructing personnel on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Analyze machine and equipment problems, and determine the best course of action for repair or replacement.
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory, and ensure timely delivery of replacement parts.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal vocational training in industrial maintenance or CNC maintenance technician preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance or related field, with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of CNC controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic PLC programming.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
