Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Beacon Orthopaedic Partners MSO LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for radiological procedures, operating x-ray equipment, and ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures, communicate the process to the patient, and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Use and maintain a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Evaluate and ensure equipment is in working order, reporting all malfunctions or concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Process and enter radiological procedure information into the electronic health record as soon as completed and provide additional reports and information as needed.
- Evaluate and maintain examination rooms to ensure rooms are clean and stocked, including ensuring necessary medical and radiological supplies are filled.
- Places a high priority on and maintains strict confidentiality in all situations.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains applicable professional affiliations and certifications as required.
- Attends and participates in required organizational meetings and committees as requested.
Working Conditions:
The working environment is in an enclosed space with radiologic equipment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment may occur. Work requires standing for long periods of time and excessive walking, stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting to help position patients and equipment. The ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques is required. The ability to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and placing them in appropriate positions for the operation of equipment is also required.
Requirements:
A completion of course in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists is required. Maintaining certification with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (AART) and an active Indiana State license is also required.
