About the Role

Air Liquide is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Electrical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our industrial gas pipelines and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hybrid Schedule: Work a hybrid schedule with up to 40% of travel to our assets in areas outside of Texas and Louisiana.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage motors and distribution equipment.
  • Vendor Management: Direct and oversee vendor shop repairs on high voltage equipment and motors to ensure highest quality work and adherence to Air Liquide standards.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Manage preventive maintenance (PM) of electrical equipment during turnarounds.
  • Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of work within CMMS (Maximo).
  • Project Management: Develop detailed scopes for electrical projects and maintenance activity.
  • Engineering: Responsible for engineering of projects, personally and via contractors.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate technicians, both AL and contract, to execute maintenance work.
  • Mentorship: Lead mentoring and training of facility operations and technical staff in understanding the operation/maintenance of electrical systems/controls.
  • Compliance: Maintain 95% or greater compliance in PM program and 100% EIS PM compliance.
  • Work Planning: Ensure proper planning of work orders utilizing Maximo.
  • Process Improvement: Actively promote improving PM details and Job Plans following proper procedure.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Insure PM and PdM programs are being executed and follow up work is performed and documented.
  • Analysis: Assist in analysis and follow up on PdM data (thermography, relay and breaker testing, transformer oil/gas test, PD and PI of motors, etc).
  • Root Cause Analysis and Vulnerability Studies: Actively lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis and Vulnerability Studies.
  • Maintenance Strategies: Develop and modify maintenance strategies based on RCA, VS and Risk Analysis findings.
  • Turnaround Planning: Plan, manage and execute major electrical maintenance activities and turnarounds.
  • Budgeting: Complete major maintenance activities on schedule and budget.
  • Maintenance Management: Participate in and understand the R&M budgeting process Participate in development of annual maintenance schedule, budget and turnaround plans.
  • Standards and Procedures: Understand and promote the Maintenance Management Process.
  • Inventory Management: Utilize the Onsites Maintenance Center and Corporate standards.
  • Spare Parts Management: Provide feedback to improve the spare parts stocking at each plant.
  • Contractor Management: Ensure spare parts are adequately stocked, stored and replenished as needed.
  • Quality and Safety: Work closely with contractors; monitor contractor work quality and cost.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist Maintenance team in maintaining equipment manuals.
  • Process Improvement: Make suggestions to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability and quality.
  • Action Items: Committed to solving and completing all types of action items.
  • Leadership: Lead by example and motivate others to excel and succeed.
  • Housekeeping: Set and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 5+ years experience in plant high voltage or substation electrical maintenance activities.
  • Skills: Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of high-voltage motors, experience in troubleshooting high-voltage transmission equipment, ability to travel for extended periods of time (1 to 10 days), with little advance warning.
  • Physical Qualifications: Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to climb ladders and work off elevated platforms/surfaces, ability to work in a non-conditioned environment for extended periods, ability to work in flash suit for testing and troubleshooting.
