Assembly Technician

Cross-functional team member sought for iron foundry production team. Key responsibilities include setup and operation of equipment, reading and following process instructions, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

• Setup and operate equipment at each station on the sand mold line
• Read, understand, and follow process information
• Kit and assemble mold making components
• Create sand molds by directing sand from a mixer into pattern boxes
• Prepare sand molds by sanding, painting, and assembling components
• Use a crane to transfer, orient, and position sand molds
• Coordinate the removal of sand molds from the line
• Operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift, as required
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform housekeeping and cleanup tasks on the assembly line

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read and follow process instructions
• Use basic hand tools and lifting devices, such as a hoist or crane
• Ability to learn multiple roles and skills
• Basic math skills and basic measurement skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Positive team orientation

Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, and weather changes. Some work stations require use of a respirator. The material handling route is indoor and outdoor. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 70lbs, need to see details at a close range, standing for long periods of time, good hand and finger dexterity, and ability to bend, twist, reach, and walk.
