Job Overview

Position Summary:

Group Delta is in search of a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Engineer to enhance our team in Torrance. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in conducting field assessments and drafting comprehensive design reports. This position entails the management of geotechnical projects, supervising junior personnel, and engaging in professional networking and business development initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and/or oversee field geotechnical assessments
  • Supervise geotechnical construction monitoring and testing
  • Manage geotechnical projects, which includes performing analyses, maintaining client relations, and preparing project deliverables
  • Collaborate with fellow project managers to execute geotechnical projects, encompassing field assessments, analyses, deliverables, and construction monitoring
  • Guide junior staff in completing tasks and projects
  • Engage in industry-related events and business development efforts

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
  • Possession of California PE certification or qualifications to obtain it; GE certification is advantageous
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role

What You Will Contribute:

  • Expertise in geotechnical analysis techniques such as liquefaction analysis, slope stability evaluation, ground enhancement, wall design, pavement engineering, and material and soil testing
  • Familiarity with software tools including gINT, LPILE, SLIDE, SNAILZ, SLOPE/W, etc.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and a commitment to project pursuit, execution, and delivery
