Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will perform a variety of tasks, including administering medication, collecting specimens, and providing clinical treatments. The RN will also document patient care, monitor and record patient condition, and communicate with the care team, physician, patient, and family as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, assesses, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Associate's degree nursing (RN license to serve as proof of education completion)
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Handle with Care, TNCC, ENPC, NRP
  • Licenses: KY nursing license, Kentucky RN state licensure or compact licensure required
