Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory tests, working closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic testing on blood and other biological specimens, ensuring accurate processing and reporting of results.
  • Calibrate and maintain clinical laboratory instruments and equipment, recognizing and correcting basic malfunctions.
  • Prepare reagents and media from prescribed procedures or literature, conducting and documenting quality control procedures as needed.
  • Orient and supervise students and new laboratory personnel, presenting scientific principles and discussing best practices.
  • Monitor quality improvement processes, participating in the gathering of information on current QI indicators and developing new programs to enhance effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Eligibility for certification in Medical Technology or a subspecialty certification in a discipline in which the employee will work.
  • Strong knowledge of medical laboratory techniques, principles, and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.

We offer a competitive salary range of $46.69, with a final salary offer based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with our organizational needs.
