- Escorting and Transportation: Escort inmates to and from various locations, including court, visiting areas, medical offices, and transport to other correctional facilities.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inmate activities, including releases, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fights, and other incidents that may arise within the facility.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.
- Equipment and Materials: Familiarity with handcuffs, body chains, less lethal agents and equipment, and computer systems.
Correctional Officers work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills. They must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
