About the RoleThe Clinical Dietitian will work primarily at the Bluestone Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital in Shaker Heights, which is a 12-bed psychiatric hospital designed to create cutting-edge clinical care and positive patient experiences.
This is an in-patient position that requires coordination of all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy: Work with patients to develop personalized meal plans and provide guidance on healthy eating habits.
- Counsel Patients: Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to patients on leading a healthy lifestyle.
- Plan and Provide Group Nutrition Education: Develop and implement group nutrition education programs for patients.
- Contribute to Clinical Records: Document patient progress and updates in accordance with licensing and accreditation regulations.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Respect patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Develop Meal Plans: Create meal plans that meet patients' nutritional needs and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Assist with Menu Planning: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus and food preparation procedures.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Attend training sessions and stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices in nutrition.
- Bachelor's Degree: Required degree in nutrition or a related field.
- Licensure: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) licensure required.
- Skills: Sensitivity when working with diverse groups, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently.
- Experience: Experienced in clinical nutrition, food service, and behavioral health.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
