Nutrition Therapist

The Wingspan Care Group is a nonprofit organization that provides administrative and management services to its partner agencies. This role is part of the innovative model that promotes sustainability and advancement among its partner agencies.

The Clinical Dietitian will work primarily at the Bluestone Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital in Shaker Heights, which is a 12-bed psychiatric hospital designed to create cutting-edge clinical care and positive patient experiences.

This is an in-patient position that requires coordination of all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling of patients.

• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy: Work with patients to develop personalized meal plans and provide guidance on healthy eating habits.
• Counsel Patients: Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to patients on leading a healthy lifestyle.
• Plan and Provide Group Nutrition Education: Develop and implement group nutrition education programs for patients.
• Contribute to Clinical Records: Document patient progress and updates in accordance with licensing and accreditation regulations.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Respect patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Develop Meal Plans: Create meal plans that meet patients' nutritional needs and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Assist with Menu Planning: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus and food preparation procedures.
• Stay Current with Best Practices: Attend training sessions and stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices in nutrition.

• Bachelor's Degree: Required degree in nutrition or a related field.
• Licensure: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) licensure required.
• Skills: Sensitivity when working with diverse groups, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently.
• Experience: Experienced in clinical nutrition, food service, and behavioral health.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
